BPD Remembers: The Boston Police Division remembers the service and sacrifice of Officer John H. Manning who was killed within the line of obligation on today, February sixth, 85 years in the past.
Officer John Manning suffered life threatening accidents, which he later succumbed to, whereas making an arrest of a suspect on Sunday, February 6, 1938.
On the time of his dying, Officer Manning was 39-years-old and left behind his grieving spouse and three kids.
Officer Manning served with the Boston Police Division for 16 years and is buried at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. Officer Manning’s title is positioned on the Nationwide Regulation Enforcement Memorial in addition to the Hero Wall at Boston Police Headquarters and the Regulation Enforcement Memorial on the State Home in Downtown Boston.
