BPD Remembers: The women and men of the Boston Police Division bear in mind the service and sacrifice of Lieutenant Edward J. Kelley who handed away on Friday, January 14, 1938, because of issues stemming from a coronary heart assault he suffered at an earlier date whereas on obligation.
Lieutenant Kelley was 54-years-old on the time of his passing and had served and been a member of the Boston Police Division for 28 years. Previous to becoming a member of the Boston Police Division, Kelley labored for a number of years with the Boston Fireplace Division.
Lieutenant Kelley was laid to relaxation at Previous Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale, and was survived by his spouse and three sons.
His title is positioned on the Hero Wall at Boston Police Headquarters, in addition to, the Regulation Enforcement Memorial on the State Home in Downtown Boston.
