At about 2:30 PM, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Power, together with the Massachusetts State Police, made an on-site firearm arrest of Jason Elston, 21, of Roslindale, within the space of Franklin Hill Avenue and Shandon Street in Mattapan.
Officers have been travelling on Franklin Hill Avenue after they noticed the operator of a motorized vehicle wanting down at his cellphone whereas constantly taking his eyes off of the street.
Officers initiated a site visitors cease of the motorized vehicle and made contact with the driving force and the occupants. After additional investigation, officers recovered a loaded firearm from the rear passenger, later recognized as Jason Elston. The firearm was decided to be a loaded Glock 45, Mannequin 30, with eight rounds within the journal.
Elston was arrested and charged with; Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Manner. He’s anticipated to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court docket.
