BPD Remembers: On the night time of December 12, 1825, Officer Jonathan Houghton, a member of the Boston Watch, was critically injured by a suspect armed with an ax whereas on patrol within the space of Broad Road in Downtown Boston. On December nineteenth, Officer Houghton succumbed to his accidents and handed away on the age of 61.
Officer Houghton left behind a grieving widow in addition to fifteen kids. Watch Officer Houghton is buried on the Copps Hill Burial Floor in Boston and his title is positioned on the Nationwide Regulation Enforcement Memorial, panel 22, east line 26, in addition to the Hero Wall at Boston Police Headquarters and the Massachusetts Regulation Enforcement Memorial positioned on the State Home in Downtown Boston.
